Tough Guy Actors

If you’re into movies you know that there are many tough guy actors that have been used in numerous movies. Some of these stars include Dwayne Johnson, Michael Jai White, Vin Diesel, Kiefer Sutherland, Tom Hardy and Harrison Ford. There are other actors, too, that may be unfamiliar to you.

Liam Neeson

When he’s not starring in the most epic action movies of all time, Liam Neeson is working on challenging racism in Hollywood. He is a former amateur boxer, and even has a few regional boxing titles under his belt. After he turned seventeen, he gave up the sport.

Since then, Neeson has become a bona fide action star. His work has been recognized by the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, and he’s been nominated for a Best Supporting Actor Oscar.

In recent years, Neeson has starred in a string of high-profile films. He played the 18th century Scottish Highlander Rob Roy in 1995, and he’s been in a number of successful movies, such as The A-Team, Chloe, and Men in Black: International. Among his other recent roles, he appeared as the villainous crime boss in Kin, and he’s set to play the newly retired hitman in a new movie.

Liam Neeson is a six-foot-four Irishman who began his career as a boxer. He studied to become a teacher. Once he finished his studies, he joined the Abbey Theatre in Dublin. During this time, he met actress Helen Mirren.

In 1992, Neeson had a role in Schindler’s List, a film that he says he was initially “nervous about.” It was a good fit for Neeson, and he went on to star in a number of other movies, such as The Grey, and Chloe.

Vin Diesel

If you’re a fan of the Fast and Furious series, you’ve probably noticed the actor Vin Diesel. He’s not a stranger to the spotlight and has been racking up movie credits since he was a teenager.

The man has a bald head, a ripped physique, and a low, distinctive voice. His career has been a whirlwind of action-packed franchises and movies. Having already starred in the Fast and Furious series, he has also popped up in Chronicles of Riddick, Knockaround Guys, and XXX: The Return of Xander Cage.

The Fast and Furious movies are well-known for their hypermasculinity. Throughout the series, Diesel plays the part of a serial womanizer. Though he tries to pass himself off as a family man, he’s always got his a$$ on.

When he was a kid, Diesel was interested in circuses and hip-hop music. As an adult, he became an avid gamer, and has produced a number of games. In 2009, he headlined the action-adventure video game Wheelman.

There are several other notable moments in the life of Vin Diesel, including the birth of his first child in the year 2008. Diesel’s daughter Hania Riley was born in April of 2008. She is already beginning to work with her father on the upcoming “Fast & Furious” franchise.

Harrison Ford

When you hear the name Harrison Ford, you may immediately think of the iconic archaeologist, Indiana Jones. But that’s not the only role the legendary American actor has played. He also plays heroic characters in movies such as Air Force One (1997) and Witness (1985).

The American actor started his career as a carpenter. After taking a class in acting at Ripon College in Wisconsin, he found his niche. In 1973, he landed a small part in American Graffiti.

For a number of years, Harrison Ford was considered the most bankable actor in Hollywood. His films grossed around $5.4 billion in the United States, and he was nominated for four Golden Globe Awards. He was awarded the American Film Institute’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2000.

After being chastised by new talent program head Walter Beakel, he subsequently signed a contract with Columbia Pictures for $150 a week. From that point on, he was a regular fixture in action flicks.

During this time, he also starred in a few romantic comedies. He received a nomination for his role in the movie Presumed Innocent in 1990.

When he met actress Calista Flockhart, he told her he would not discuss details of his personal life. Later, they became parents of two children. However, the couple ended up divorcing in 2004.

Kiefer Sutherland

If you’re looking for an actor with a long career in Hollywood, you should look no further than Kiefer Sutherland. He’s been in the business for decades and has starred in a variety of high-profile films and television shows. Some of his more notable appearances include Jack Bauer on 24 and The Fugitive.

Born in London, England, Kiefer moved to California when he was just two years old. His parents are actor Donald Sutherland and actress Shirley Douglas. In addition to acting, Sutherland is a guitar collector and is also an avid music fan.

Sutherland has appeared in a number of movies, including Flatliners, The Lost Boys, Melancholia and A Time to Kill. Although he has worked on numerous TV shows, he is best known for his role as FBI agent Jack Bauer on the show 24, which he won an Emmy Award for.

While most of his movies and TV shows have been straight-ahead dramas, there have been several exceptions. For instance, his appearance in A Few Good Men (1996) and Young Guns (1997) featured him as a sensitive teenager.

Another one of Kiefer’s more interesting films was a semi-autobiographical tale called The Bay Boy. It was a critical hit and earned him three Sutherland Genie award nominations for Best Actor.

Dwayne Johnson

Known as Hollywood’s tough guy, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has taken on a wide variety of roles. His star power is high enough to be considered one of the top movie stars of all time. He has appeared in everything from teen comedy to action adventure films.

The Scorpion King was his first major movie role. Though it didn’t sell many tickets, it was a major step in building his movie career.

It also starred Steven Tyler. This loose cannon actor is also the co-host of Saturday Night Live’s “5-Time Host Club”. Besides acting, he’s a bodybuilder, and he has appeared in a number of other films.

Although not a film that was particularly well received, it does have a very clever name. If you’re a fan of the video game, this is a tad bit of a cheat.

Another movie that deserves to be mentioned is “Baby Driver”. The film, which also features Ryan Reynolds, is a heist movie that shows off the actor’s comedic chops.

“Baby Driver” wasn’t as commercially successful as some of Johnson’s other movies, but it is a very good example of the aforementioned aforementioned. In this film, Dwayne Johnson plays the titular character and shows off his acting prowess.

Michael Jai White

Michael Jai White is one of the most recognizable action movie actors in the world. This versatile actor is not only a martial artist, but also an excellent writer. He continues the legacy of Jackie Chan and Chuck Norris. His films are popular with audiences and have earned him a lot of respect.

As an adult, he became a junior high school teacher, but he left his job in 1992 to pursue acting full-time. He landed a few roles in television shows like NYPD Blue and CSI.

The first feature film that he starred in was “True Identity” (1991). After that, he appeared in “Black Dynamite” (2001), “Spawn” (2002), and “The Dark Knight” (2005).

While he honed his craft by training in various karate styles, he has also trained in boxing and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. In addition, he was the first African-American to play a major comic book superhero in a major motion picture.

Although Michael has yet to compete professionally, he does teach martial arts and MMA classes. He has a YouTube channel that is visited by millions of viewers around the world.

In addition to his movie work, he’s also been seen in television shows. His best known role is that of Eddie Brock in the Venom series. That movie earned him a Best Supporting Actor nomination from the Academy.

Some of his other notable roles include that of a man who was a shady gay hoodlum in RocknRolla, a drugged up Charles Bronson in Bronson, and a crack villain in Inception. He’s also appeared in the Star Trek: Nemesis and The Dark Knight Rises films.
